Have you ever wondered what goes on?
This project lasts for 10 weeks: the schools will
have an hour session on January,
12th, 19th, 26th, February, 2nd, 9th, 23rd, and March 2nd, 9th, 16th and
the concert is at Bristol Cathedral on Wednesday, 17th March (10am
rehearsal 11.20-12pm concert).
Kate, the leader, will also come in for a final session on 23rd March to ask the
children and teachers for their feedback and round off the project.
The children can be chosen from any KS2 years: usually 2 or 3 classes
work best: but if you would prefer me to work with one individual class
that is also fine. It is a project for the teachers to be involved with
too: not marking in the corner!
The choristers from the cathedral will be visiting the children to sing
with them and chat to them about life as a chorister during the session
on March, 9th and they will sing with the schools in the concert on 17th
March. The children will learn two songs to sing all together, and two
additional songs that will be sung just by them, plus lots of warm-ups,
games, silly songs and singing techniques to motivate and engage them in
singing and extend their skills. The schools' commitment is to ensure that
the staff are engaged and interested, and to organise transport to and
from the cathedral for the concert on 17th March.
